A 23-page Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the Himalayan State should be followed through all hotel and tourism related activities. All tourists must register on the Sikkim Tourism web portal and keep a copy of the "Travel Card" issued on the basis of tourist registration at all times.

Tourism in Sikkim will be phased in keeping in view the safety and security of the tourists as well as the locals. Here are the official SOPs that every tourist should follow.



Guidelines to Prevent and Protect from COVID-19:



. In the first phase, the state will only allow domestic tourists and foreign nationals residing in India.


. Clean your hands often.


. Coughing or sneezing into your bent elbow - not your hands!


. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.


. Limit social gatherings and time in crowded places.


. Avoid close contact with a patient who is ill.


. Clean and disinfect frequently touching objects and surfaces.


. All tourists going to Sikkim are 'advised' to carry a COVID-test certificate within 72 hours of arrival in the state. The test should be either RT-PCR or Truenat test.


. Tourists should also note that hotels and residences have been instructed not to make reservations for travelers who have not registered on the official web portal.
